‘Gonj’ to vie at Early Bird Film Fest

Iranian short doc ‘Gonj’ is to compete at the Early Bird Int'l Student Filmfest in Bulgaria.

Iranian short documentary ‘Gonj’ has been set to compete at the Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria.

Written, directed, produced and edited by Arman Qolipour-Dashtaki, the short doc will be competing with 17 other works from various countries such as Sweden, Italy, Turkey, Germany and Russia.

‘Gonj’, or ‘Honey Bee’ as put by the festival's official website, is an 8-minute short about a group of mountaineers who do a very tough climb in the Zagros ranges to obtain pure and natural honey. The honey will then be used to cure the patients with various diseases.

Launched in 2005, the Early Bird International Student Film Festival is the biggest Bulgarian forum dedicated to support the creation of student short films.

The festival is fully devoted to help young filmmakers to reach their audience.

The 15th edition of the film festival is slated for November 1-5, 2019.
